Cosmic Collision: Galaxies Clash in Distant Universe

Amateur astrophotographer James Peirce captured a stunning image of Arp 273, two spiral galaxies located 300 million light-years from Earth. The galaxies are in the process of interacting with each other, and intense star formation in the smaller galaxy is believed to have been triggered by the encounter with the larger one. Peirce shot the image using his Celestron EdgeHD 8-inch telescope from his backyard in Utah.
