"Discovery of Patchy Cloud Layers on Nearby Planetary-Mass Object"

Astronomers have conducted multi-wavelength photometric observations of the nearby planetary-mass object SIMP J013656.5+093347, revealing evidence of patchy cloud layers in its atmosphere. The observations suggest the presence of at least two patchy cloud layers, with a phase shift between J- and Ks-band light curves indicating their existence. Further study and long-term monitoring, including forthcoming observations with the James Webb Space Telescope, are deemed necessary to better understand the atmospheric structure of this object.
