Distant world experiences dust storm detected by James Webb telescope.

The James Webb Space Telescope has detected a dust storm on the exoplanet VHS 1256b, located about 40 light-years from Earth. The storm is made up of silicate particles and is more of a rocky mist than a desert-like storm. VHS 1256b is a "super Jupiter" planet that orbits a couple of stars at a great distance. The discovery was made using the Mid-Infrared Instrument and Near-Infrared Spectrometer of the James Webb Space Telescope, which can study exoplanet atmospheres in unprecedented detail.
