"Rare Nova Outburst to Create Spectacular New Star in Northern Sky"

Astronomers expect the star T Coronae Borealis, located in the constellation Corona Borealis, to go nova in the near future, becoming one of the brightest stars in the night sky for about a week. This event will make the star, normally too faint to be seen without a telescope, as bright as the North Star. After reaching its peak brightness, it will be visible to the naked eye for several days and with binoculars for just over a week before dimming again, possibly for another 80 years.
