"Spot 'Horned' Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks in the Night Sky: A Guide"

Comet 12P/Pons-Brooks, discovered by Jean-Louis Pons and William R. Brooks, will be visible in the night sky this month. It is currently visible in the early evening within the constellation of Andromeda and will pass close to the 2nd-magnitude star Hamal at the end of March. The comet is known for sudden flare-ups in brightness, with the latest occurring in January. It will reach perihelion on April 21 and may brighten to naked-eye visibility by the end of March. Future flares are possible, but it is not expected to become a spectacular object. After this appearance, the comet will not return for another 71 years.
