Natural climate feedbacks could add up to 0.4°C warming by 2100, study finds

New research finds natural climate feedbacks from thawing permafrost, intensifying wildfires, and greenhouse gas release from wetlands and lakes could amplify human-caused warming by 20–30% by 2100, adding about 0.2–0.4°C to global temperatures and not fully captured in climate models, potentially pushing projected warming toward 2.6°C with current policies.
