"Surprising Discovery: New Species Unveiled in Local Market's Orange-Eyed Sea Creature"

Scientists visiting a local market in the Philippines purchased an orange-eyed sea creature and discovered it to be a new species of razor wrasse fish. The fish, named Iniistius bakunawa, has a distinctive black and white eyespot on its dorsal fin and a brightly colored body with metallic spots. Researchers found specimens in fish markets and museum collections, but little is known about its natural habitat or behavior. The new species likely occurs elsewhere in the Indo-West Pacific. It was named after Bakunawa, a figure in Visayan mythology associated with causing eclipses.
