Astronomers capture stunning images of the universe from Malta's National Observatory.

The National Astronomical Observatory in Nadur, Gozo has captured images of the crescent moon and three distant galaxies, including the Sunflower Galaxy, which lies over 29 million light years away. The observatory, financed by the Gozo ministry's EcoGozo directorate, houses a telescope with advanced instrumentation and will be used for research projects, training students in astronomy, and engaging the general public. The observatory is a milestone for astronomy in Malta and will enable Maltese researchers to further their studies and carry out research in collaboration with foreign universities.
