Rare Annular Solar Eclipse to Grace Canadian Skies: Don't Miss One of the Last Spectacles for Years

Canadians will have the opportunity to witness a partial annular solar eclipse on October 14, which will also allow NASA to study the impact of a sudden lack of sunlight on the atmosphere. While the "ring of fire" eclipse won't be visible in Canada, a dark shadow will appear to take a slice out of the Sun, dimming its brightness. The eclipse will be most visible in the southern parts of British Columbia, with the rest of the country experiencing varying degrees of coverage. NASA will launch three rockets during the eclipse to investigate the effects on the ionosphere. The next total solar eclipse visible in Canada will occur on April 8, 2024.
