"Upcoming Solar Eclipse: Wyoming, Amarillo, UWSP, and Friends Prepare for Spectacular Views"

Wyoming residents will have the opportunity to witness a partial solar eclipse on October 14, starting around 9:10 to 9:15 a.m. and peaking around 10:30 a.m. Special glasses are necessary to safely view the eclipse, as looking directly at it can cause permanent damage to the eyes. The eclipse will be an annular eclipse, where the Moon appears smaller than the Sun and creates a ring-like effect. Weather conditions will play a significant role in visibility, and in some parts of southwest Wyoming, over 80 percent of the sun will be blocked out.
