Ancient footprints reveal unexpectedly large Paranthropus boisei group 1.4 million years ago

A 1.4-million-year-old footprint trail in northern Kenya shows eight Paranthropus boisei individuals, most likely adult males, moving together—with some tracks indicating body sizes up to about 1.8 meters tall and 75 kilograms—hinting at a more complex social structure than previously thought and offering rare insight into early hominin locomotion and group life along a lakeshore.
