China's space agency has announced the names of its crewed capsule and lander for its ambitious plans to send astronauts to the lunar surface, with the capsule named Mengzhou, or "dream vessel," and the lander named Lanyue, or "embracing the Moon." The spacecraft will weigh 22 metric tons and the lander is designed to house two astronauts and a rover. China aims to return astronauts to the Moon by 2030, with plans to launch a mission to collect samples from the Moon's far side this year, and to build a research station on the Moon's south pole by 2028.
