Hubble Space Telescope Captures Stunning Images of Galaxies

The Hubble Space Telescope has captured a stunning image of NGC 2814, an irregular galaxy located 85 million light-years from Earth and part of a galactic quartet known as Holmberg 124. The image showcases the galaxy's bright blue stars in active regions of star formation and a halo of dust and gas. The other members of Holmberg 124 include a side-on spiral galaxy, an irregular galaxy, and a face-on, non-barred spiral galaxy. The classification of galaxies as early-type or late-type does not imply an evolutionary sequence, contrary to a common misconception.
