NASA and Axiom Space Unveil Next-Gen Moon Suit for Artemis III Mission

Axiom Space has unveiled a prototype of the spacesuit that US astronauts will wear during the next mission to land on the moon. The new suit, called the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU), is a "rental" designed, built and soon to be leased to NASA by Axiom Space. The AxEMU provides increased flexibility, greater protection against the harsh environment and specialized tools to achieve exploration needs and expand scientific opportunities. The suit will enable exploration of more of the lunar surface than ever before and will be ready for the Artemis III mission, which is targeted for launch in December 2025.
