"NASA Astronaut Celebrates Hanukkah in Space with Felt Menorah and Dreidel"

NASA astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli celebrated Hanukkah on the International Space Station with a felt menorah and spinning dreidel, as real candles are not allowed in space. Moghbeli, whose husband is Jewish, mentioned her intention to celebrate the holiday in space during a press conference in July. This is not the first time Hanukkah has been celebrated at the ISS, as Jewish astronaut Jessica Meir also celebrated the holiday in 2019.
