Cloud Switch edition of Aliens: Fireteam Elite ends without refunds

Cold Iron Studios has shut down the Nintendo Switch cloud version of Aliens: Fireteam Elite, making the game unplayable for all players once the servers close on August 5, 2026 (JST). No refunds are being offered, and the game, originally priced at $30 (or $60 for the Ultimate edition), will be delisted. Reports suggest affected players could be offered a discount on a Switch 2 version, but that would require paying again for content already purchased. The shutdown comes ahead of the sequel, Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, due later this month.
