Blue Origin Secures $3.4B NASA Contract for Lunar Lander Development

Blue Origin, owned by Jeff Bezos, has won a $3.4 billion NASA contract to develop a lunar lander named Blue Moon, which will transport astronauts to the moon's surface as early as 2029. NASA will use its own rockets and capsules to get astronauts to lunar orbit, but wants private companies to take over from there. Blue Origin is also investing billions of dollars to establish a permanent presence on the moon. Two years ago, Blue Origin sued after NASA awarded SpaceX the contract for the first lunar landing.
