"Israel Thwarts Unprecedented Iran Attack with U.S. Assistance: Live Updates"
TL;DR
Israel successfully defended against an unprecedented attack by Iran, with 99% of over 300 drones and missiles intercepted, prompting U.S. President Biden to seek a diplomatic response from the Group of Seven. The attack was in retaliation for an earlier strike on an Iranian consular building in Syria. Israel's air-defense network, with U.S. assistance, played a crucial role in thwarting the assault. Tensions remain high as both sides claim success, and negotiations for a cease-fire in Gaza face setbacks.
