Fresh Democratic Faces Poised to Shape the 2026 Midterms
TL;DR
Democrats advanced a diverse slate in New Jersey, Iowa and California after Tuesday’s primaries: Rebecca Bennett (NJ-7) and Adam Hamawy (NJ-12) with military backgrounds, Josh Turek (Iowa) a Paralympian running for an open Senate seat, Rob Sand (Iowa) seeking the governorship, and Scott Wiener (California) moving toward a Pelosi-era SF district runoff. The group underscores Democrats’ growing appeal in competitive districts ahead of the 2026 midterms as they push healthcare, economic reform and inclusion agendas.
