NASA's Osiris-REx spacecraft successfully delivers asteroid sample to Earth

NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission successfully landed a sample return capsule containing asteroid rocks in a Utah desert after a 7-year mission. The rocks, older than Earth, are pristine remnants of the early solar system and could provide insights into the chemistry that contributed to the emergence of life. The capsule was immediately transported to a clean room to protect it from Earth's atmosphere before being taken to NASA's Johnson Space Center for analysis. Researchers eagerly anticipate opening the sealed sample canister to study the asteroid material and reveal what surprises it holds.
