India's Chandrayaan-3 Moon Lander Remains Silent Despite Wake-Up Attempts

India's Chandrayaan-3 mission successfully landed on the moon, making India the fourth country to achieve an intact landing on the lunar surface. However, the lander and rover, Vikram and Pragyan, respectively, could not be revived after entering the cold lunar darkness. The spacecraft were not designed to withstand the extreme temperatures of the lunar night. Despite this setback, the mission was considered a success for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), as it redeemed the disappointment of a failed landing attempt four years ago. The mission's scientific observations included measuring underground temperatures, identifying elements in the lunar soil, and detecting a possible moonquake.
