SpaceX Crew-7 Mission Delayed, New Launch Date Announced

The launch of the next Crew Dragon mission, Crew 7, has been delayed due to Falcon Heavy delays, pushing the launch to Monday, August 21. The delay was caused by a ripple effect from the recent launch of Hughes' Jupiter 3/Echostar 24 satellite, which was originally scheduled after Crew 7 but moved up due to a national security mission delay. SpaceX's decision to forgo the customary static test fire and a stuck liquid oxygen valve further delayed the launch. The refurbishment and reconfiguration work required between launches, as well as the upcoming Psyche mission, have added to the scheduling challenges. The Crew 7 mission will use a new Falcon 9 first stage booster and the SpaceX Crew Dragon Endurance spacecraft.
