Gulf Disturbance Threatens Florida as Models Predict Development

The National Hurricane Center is monitoring four disturbances in the tropics, including Tropical Storm Franklin, which is expected to regain strength in the Atlantic. Invest 93L in the Northwestern Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico has an 80% chance of becoming a cyclone in the next seven days and is forecasted to approach Florida. Another disturbance in the Central Tropical Atlantic has a 50% chance of development, while a third disturbance in the Central Subtropical Atlantic has a 10% chance. Environmental conditions are becoming less favorable for cyclone formation in the latter two disturbances.
