Persistent Rain and Flooding Threat Continues in Southern California

Heavy rainfall is expected to continue in Southern California, causing flash flooding in the Los Angeles and San Diego metro areas. The rain will also move into Arizona, potentially leading to flooding in the Phoenix area. The storm is predicted to bring a month's worth of rain in 24 hours to some areas. Mudslides and debris flows are possible in areas previously affected by wildfires. Air and land travel delays are expected, and flood watches are in effect for 26 million people in California and the Desert Southwest. The Pacific Northwest and Intermountain West will experience rain and snowfall, with the heaviest snowfall expected in the Washington Cascades and Colorado's San Juan mountains.
