Living in Fear: A Family's Life in a Shelled Ukrainian Village.

In the small village of Bohoyavlenka, Ukraine, a family chooses to stay despite living under constant shelling, with the mother and grandmother preferring to bear the brunt of the war in their hometown rather than be displaced and penniless. Many families have refused to leave their homes along the 1,000-kilometer front line in eastern Ukraine, with aid groups concentrating on delivering food and supplying heating to these areas. Despite the severity of the fighting, 10-year-old Khrystyna Ksenofontova finds moments of delight amid the devastation, playing with neighborhood cats and dreaming of being a veterinarian.
