Turkish Soldiers Lose Lives in Anti-PKK Operation in Iraq

Five Turkish soldiers have been killed in a clash with PKK fighters during Turkey's military operation, "Claw-Lock," in northern Iraq. The operation aims to prevent the PKK from using Iraq as a base for attacks in Turkey. The PKK, designated a terrorist group by Turkey, the US, and the EU, has bases in northern Iraq. Turkey has also targeted the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Iraq, considering them the Syrian branch of the PKK. While the central Iraqi government opposes Turkey's military presence, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has not publicly condemned it.
