Finland Becomes First NATO Member to Purchase Israeli David's Sling Air-Defense System.

Finland has become the first country to purchase an advanced Israeli air-defense system, David's Sling, which defends against medium- and long-range aerial threats. The Finnish Defense Ministry approved the purchase of the system, which will significantly extend the range of Finland's ground-based air defenses. The deal is valued at nearly $345 million, and Israeli defense company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems will deliver the system. Finland became NATO's 31st member on Wednesday, adding significant firepower to the military alliance.
