Ukraine War Spurs F-35 Sales as Czech Government Approves Purchase

The Czech Republic has approved a deal to purchase 24 F-35 Joint Strike Fighters, joining a growing list of European countries acquiring the US stealth fighter. Romania has also sought parliamentary approval to acquire 32 F-35s, while Germany has decided to buy 35 F-35s to replace its aging Tornado fighters. Other European countries, including Belgium, Denmark, Switzerland, Finland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, and the United Kingdom, have already purchased or are contemplating purchasing F-35s. The surge in F-35 sales in Europe is attributed to the aircraft's interoperability, upgrade roadmap, and the security threat posed by Russia.
