Global Support Grows for Tripling Renewable Energy by 2030

Over 60 countries, including major emerging economies and developed countries, have expressed their support for a deal led by the European Union, United States, and United Arab Emirates to triple renewable energy production and transition away from coal by 2030. The pledge, which aims to be included in the final outcome of the COP28 climate negotiations, also commits signatories to doubling the world's annual energy efficiency improvement rate. Negotiations with China and India to join the pledge are reportedly advanced but not yet finalized. The move is seen as crucial in addressing climate change and setting a positive tone for the upcoming climate conference.
