Unesco's Recommendations: Venice and Great Barrier Reef's Heritage Status

UNESCO has recommended adding Venice to the list of world heritage sites in danger due to the threats of overwhelming tourism, overdevelopment, and rising sea levels caused by climate change. The report criticizes the Italian authorities for a lack of strategic vision in protecting the city. Venice, known as "La Serenissima," is vulnerable to flooding and faces damage from urban expansion projects. The inclusion in the danger list was proposed two years ago but was averted temporarily. However, the promised conservation plan was never implemented, leading to UNESCO's renewed concern.
