Putin Denies Ukrainian Involvement in Nord Stream Explosion

Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed claims that Ukrainian activists were responsible for the Nord Stream pipeline explosions and suggested that the United States may have been involved. The blasts on the gas conduit linking Russia with Europe took place in international waters but within the exclusive economic zone of Denmark and Sweden. Putin also appeared to suggest that Germany was not independent when asked about Berlin's relative silence following the attack.
