European Parliament Calls for Accountability of Lukashenko and Putin's Aggression

The European Parliament has adopted a resolution condemning the regime of Alexander Lukashenko in Belarus for its repression of the Belarusian people and its complicity in Russian crimes against Ukraine. The resolution calls for the imposition of "mirror sanctions" on Belarus, similar to those imposed on Russia by the EU. It also calls for Lukashenko to be held accountable alongside Putin for crimes committed against Ukraine, including war crimes and the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children to Belarus. The resolution urges EU member states to seize the financial assets of the Belarusian leadership and support the reconstruction of Ukraine. The European Parliament also emphasizes that the majority of Belarusians do not support their country's involvement in Russian aggression against Ukraine.
