Finland Takes Action Against Russian Migrant Manipulation, Closes Border

Finland will block four of its eight border crossings with Russia in an effort to prevent the entry of asylum seekers, accusing Moscow of encouraging or turning a blind eye to undocumented migrants crossing over. The move comes amid growing tension between the two countries over Finland's decision to join NATO in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The European Commission President, Ursula von der Leyen, expressed support for Finland's measures, while Norway, Finland's neighbor, also stated its readiness to close its border with Russia if necessary.
