Former Diplomat Suggests Nonviolent Solution for Ukraine's Crimea Issue

A former U.S. diplomat suggests that Ukraine should focus on blockading Crimea rather than attempting to overtake it militarily, as both countries are on the verge of launching new offensives. Recovering the peninsula connected to Ukraine by a narrow isthmus militarily is a difficult prospect as Russian forces "can fortify it at will." The use of modern technologies, such as explosive uncrewed surface vessels and long-range precision strikes, could enable Ukraine to blockade and barrage Russian operations.
