Houthis' Ballistic Missile Attacks Escalate Israel's Security Concerns

The Iran-aligned Houthi militia in Yemen, known as Ansar Allah, has threatened to open new fronts against Israel by land and sea, in addition to their ongoing missile and drone campaign. The group's leader, Abdul-Malek al-Houthi, called on neighboring nations to allow their military forces to fight Israeli troops directly, while warning of targeting Israeli ships in the Red Sea. Ansar Allah claims to have hundreds of thousands of fighters ready to fight the "Zionists and Americans." The group has expressed close relations with Iran and other members of the "Axis of Resistance" but denies receiving direct military assistance from Tehran. The conflict in Yemen has calmed since a truce was established in April 2020, but Ansar Allah has demonstrated its long-range capabilities in the war in Gaza.
