Israel's Firm Stance: Hezbollah Unwelcome on Northern Border

Israel's national security adviser, Tzachi Hanegbi, stated that Israel can no longer tolerate Hezbollah's presence along its northern border in southern Lebanon. He indicated that once Israel deals with Hamas, it may turn its attention to Hezbollah, which is also backed by Iran. Hanegbi emphasized the need for Hezbollah to be removed from the border and for the implementation of UN Resolution 1701. Israel fears that Hezbollah's proximity to its border could lead to a similar attack as the one carried out by Hamas. Israeli leaders have warned that any attack by Hezbollah would result in severe consequences for Lebanon.
