Israel's Reaction to UN's Humanitarian Cease-Fire: A Boost for Hamas

Israel's foreign minister, Eli Cohen, stated that Israel will continue its war on Hamas in Gaza, regardless of international support, calling a cease-fire a "gift" to Hamas. This comes after the United Nations General Assembly overwhelmingly voted in favor of a resolution demanding an immediate humanitarian cease-fire. The resolution was adopted with 23 abstentions, while the United States and Israel voted against it. The situation in Gaza is described as a collapsing humanitarian system, with tens of thousands of deaths and Palestinians displaced by violence having nowhere safe to go.
