Neighbouring Countries on High Alert as Wagner Presence in Belarus Raises Concerns

EU countries bordering Belarus, including Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland, have expressed concerns over the presence of "serial killers" from the Wagner mercenary group and the risk of infiltration into their countries. They called for more solidarity from the EU and NATO, highlighting the need to heighten border awareness and control. Belarus has been accused of weaponizing its border with EU member states by deliberately bringing in foreign migrants. Poland has suggested that the EU should pay to strengthen security at the border. The Lithuanian president emphasized the need for NATO to take bold decisions to strengthen its eastern flank.
