Poland's Prime Minister Raises Concerns Over Potential Wagner Mercenaries Infiltration

More than 100 members of the Wagner Group, a notorious Russian mercenary group, have reportedly moved towards Poland's border with Belarus, raising concerns among NATO leaders and local authorities. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki confirmed the movement of the mercenaries near the vulnerable Suwałki Gap, just 10 miles from the Polish border. There are fears that the Wagner fighters could infiltrate Poland, potentially disguised as Belarusian border guards or illegal immigrants, creating additional risks and destabilizing the country. The Suwałki Gap is considered a strategically important area, and any attack on Polish or Lithuanian soil could invoke NATO's Article 5, potentially leading to a conflict with Russia.
