Ukraine Exposes and Dismantles Russian Spy Network in Kyiv

Ukraine announced the arrest of five former and current intelligence officers for allegedly working as part of a Russian spy ring, passing information to Russia's FSB about Ukrainian military sites, defensive fortifications, personal data, and strategic energy facilities. The SBU security service stated that the network was run by the FSB's military counterintelligence and called it a "powerful agent network." The arrested individuals, including a former employee of Ukraine's military intelligence and its foreign intelligence units, are suspected of treason for passing intelligence to Russian special services. This comes amid a series of arrests of individuals accused of espionage or passing strategic information to Russian handlers since Moscow's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
