Decoding the Complex Power Struggle in Sudan's Conflict.
TL;DR
The conflict in Sudan is not just a domestic one, but also a proxy war in which outside powers are fighting for the imposition of their own agendas on Sudan. The US has been increasing its interests in Sudan, especially as it expresses alarm at alleged expanding Russian diplomatic and military roles on the continent. The conflict involves various factions and leaders vying for absolute political power, with the influence of US allies in the region being all but omitted by Western media.
