Kremlin critic Vladimir Kara-Murza compares his case to Stalin's show trials.

Russian opposition leader Vladimir Kara-Murza, who was arrested in April 2022 after returning to Russia to campaign against Vladimir Putin’s war in Ukraine, is facing a 25-year sentence. Kara-Murza is one of the Kremlin’s foremost critics and has been persecuted for his anti-war activities. He is currently in detention, and his health has deteriorated. International sanctions on his persecutors are the only hope for him, and the United States and Europe have already imposed sanctions on some of the officials involved. However, the UK government has not taken any action, despite Kara-Murza holding dual British-Russian nationality.
