Sweden Confronts Russia Over NATO Threats and Statements.

Sweden has summoned the Russian ambassador to Sweden after he warned that the country would become a "legitimate target" of "retaliatory measures" if it joined NATO. Russia's ambassador to Sweden, Viktor Tatarintsev, also warned Finland that it risked embroiling itself in Moscow's confrontation with the West by joining the alliance. Sweden and Finland both decided to join NATO in May, ending decades of military non-alignment.
