Poland's welcome for Ukrainian refugees tested by rising hostility

Poland hosts about 1 million Ukrainians (refugees and long-term residents); more than 70% have found work and they’re estimated to have added about 2.7% to Poland’s GDP in 2024, but anti-Ukrainian sentiment is rising, threatening shelters and social cohesion as many refugees are women and children.
