Roland Revives Jupiter-8 Legacy with High-Polyphony Boutique Synth
Roland has released the JUPITER-08, a modernized version of the discontinued JP-08 Boutique synth, marking the 45th anniversary of the original Jupiter-8. Priced at $549.99, the device features a new interface inspired by the 1981 original but utilizes Analog Behavior Modeling (ABM) instead of ACB to support up to 32 voices. It includes a 64-step polyphonic sequencer, 17 built-in effects, and a K-25m keyboard dock. While praised for its hands-on design and portability, some critics argue the price is high for a digital emulation compared to analog alternatives.
