An open-source effort led by Claude Code, with autonomous input from Claude Opus 4.7, patches Wine-Staging to run Adobe Lightroom CC on Linux, including cloud syncing. Most features work, but some dialogs may crash and certain GPU-accelerated functions aren’t fully baked yet; a reproducible setup recipe is available on GitHub.
The author tested Adobe's new Lightroom app for the Apple Vision Pro, a virtual and augmented reality headset, and found it to be an effective tool for editing photos using eye tracking and fingertip gestures. The experience demonstrated the potential for productivity and privacy in public spaces, but also revealed some limitations such as eye tracking accuracy and the app's reliance on cloud storage. Adobe also released other apps for the Vision Pro, including Firefly AI, Fresco, and Behance, with plans to potentially adapt more of its software for the headset in the future.
Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop now support RAW files from the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, allowing users to enhance and edit their photos on a professional level. RAW files contain more data than JPEG files, providing more colors and flexibility for editing. The minimum plug-in version required is 16.0.1, and users should ensure their Adobe programs are fully updated to take advantage of this feature.
