
Springfield lands $850M Electra plant, signaling Ohio's leap into next-gen aviation
Ohio officials announced Electra will build an $850 million aircraft manufacturing plant in Springfield, expected to create about 1,975 jobs. Construction is slated to begin in 2027 near the Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport, with production of Electra's EL9 Ultra Short aircraft planned. The site was chosen from more than 140 evaluated locations, underscoring Ohio's role as a center for advanced air mobility and aerospace manufacturing.
