Final Weekend Chaos: Michigan Feud, Alaska Scandal, and Record Early Votes Shape 2026 Midterms
The final weekend of the 2026 midterm elections is defined by a fracturing Democratic coalition in Michigan, a federal investigation into a spoiler candidate in Alaska, and record-breaking early vote totals. In Michigan, Democratic Senate nominee Dr. Abdul El-Sayed and former primary rival Rep. Haley Stevens are in open conflict, jeopardizing a planned unity event in Detroit. Meanwhile, FBI agents have visited the homes of donors to a non-incumbent 'Dan Sullivan' in Alaska, intensifying scrutiny of the state’s Senate race. Over 50 million Americans have already voted, with Texas leading in early ballots despite tight polls. President Trump has reversed course to hold rallies in Iowa and Kansas, while the Justice Department prepares to appeal a California ballot case to the Supreme Court.
