John Malkovich Scraps Tel Aviv Show After PR Firm Fabricates Quotes
Actor John Malkovich has canceled a scheduled April 2027 performance of the theatrical-musical 'The Music Critic' in Tel Aviv, Israel. The cancellation follows the discovery that a public relations firm hired by the local promoter fabricated quotes attributed to him in a press release. Malkovich stated he was never consulted and that the fabricated statements falsely implied political solidarity with Israel. The Israeli promoter and the Jerusalem Post have since issued apologies and corrections.
