NASA Seeks Quiet Astronauts for a 14-Month Moon–Mars Simulation
NASA is recruiting U.S. citizens aged 30–55 with science or engineering degrees to participate in the Moon and Mars Exploration Analog (MMEA) at the Johnson Space Center. The roughly 14-month end-to-end simulation combines prior HERA and CHAPEA analogs to test liftoff, long-duration stay in a cramped spacecraft and a Mars habitat, and return, with a strict schedule, no real outside contact, and ongoing psychological and physical assessments to study crew dynamics as humanity plans Artemis-era Moon and Mars exploration.
